So just who the hell is this guy Saul Alinski?
Before Obama I do not recall hearing of him, though now his name is frequently mentioned in connection with both Hillary Clinton and Obama.
So I finally picked up a copy of his book, Rules For Radicals. the other day. Interesting book and an interesting guy–an eye-opener for those interested in what’s happening in America today.

Throughout the Western World, the Christian foundations of decency, morality, restraint, and integrity; the very moral anchor which held our civilisation together for centuries, has come under a concerted and simultaneous multi-theatre attack, which in it’s ferocity and intensity can only be described as diabolical. Here in Northern Europe, with some rare exceptions, the last bastion of what is true, virtuous and righteous, is to be found paradoxically, only amongst the followers of Islam, and make no mistake about it, even that community of faithful believers, is coming under pernicious attack by the agents of change, in the form of the welfare state; dabbling in the affairs of Muslim families, the education system, gradually breaking down the moral and belief systems of the young, and of course, the sick and twisted `entertainment industry` along with the mass media in general.

When we first introduced you to Rev. James David Manning 15 months ago, the controversial Harlem pastor was making headlines in the New York Times for his provocative sermons attacking Barack Obama.
Now, as President Obama marks his first six months in office on Monday, Pastor Manning is back at it again, this time accusing Obama of faking his citizenship.
A sign posted on the marquee in front of Manning's church on Sunday explicitly challenged the president to prove that he was born in the United States, as required under the constitution to become president.
The sign read: "The Blood Of Jesus Against Obama. Mr. Obama Show Us Your Birth Certificate. No Dew Nor Rain."

It’s all in the name of research on finding a better way to tax motorists, and the pay is $895.
Wanted: 250 Maine drivers willing to let a stranger put a black box under their dashboard.
The reward: $895 and the opportunity to speak their minds about the highway tax experiment to a researcher.
University of Iowa researchers are seeking 250 motorists in Cumberland, York and Sagadahoc counties willing to have a computer tracking system installed in their cars for 10 months. The system could someday be used to tax drivers according to the number of miles they drive, rather than the amount of gasoline they consume.
Portland is one of six cities picked for the research, which is designed to determine whether a mileage tax would work better than the gas tax to support the country’s highway system.

MJ’s death was on 6/15, the 166th day of the year, with 199 days remaining). By rotating 166 we produce another 199; by inverting the numeric values of 199 we get 911.

Spite House continues the story of Colonel Tom McKenney after he left Vietnam a physical and emotional wreck. After lengthy rehabilitation, he was still left with one gnawing regret: his failure to kill Robert Garwood. Only the march of time and the words of respected military friends began to change his mind and plant seeds of doubt that, perhaps, he had been wrong about Garwood after all. More and more individuals, whom McKenney placed in a special category reserved for proven heroes, began to tell him of events and intelligence indicating that God had prevented him from killing an innocent man and a courageous Marine. General Tighe, Colonel Millard Peck, Captain Sam Owens, General Van Phat, and numerous former POWs all added fuel to a growing horror in McKenney's mind.
It culminated in a period of uncontrollable rage lasting almost 24 hours when he smashed mirrors, burned his uniform, and destroyed furniture, fired by the knowledge his own government had used him as a murder weapon in a war never meant to be won. McKenney purged his guilt when he met Jensen-Stevenson in 1991 and confessed to her, "I directed an official mission to assassinate Garwood behind enemy lines, because I believed what they told me. Would you tell him that I would crawl on my hands and knees to beg his forgiveness?" It was 1994 before the retired colonel and the disgraced private met face to face -- an emotional meeting to be sure.

Unfortunately the soldiers learned. Not how to win wars, which they do poorly if at all, but how to keep a war going. Winning a war isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The promotions and contracts stop. When you are paid to do something, it is in your interest not to finish doing it.
The Pentagon’s first lesson learned was to avoid conscription, as the conscripted and their families will take to the streets. By using an army of volunteer suckers about whom nobody of importance cares, the military severs its wars from most of the country, which loses interest. The brass are then free to do as they choose.
The second lesson learned was that while defeating the enemy is not necessary, and perhaps not desirable, controlling the press is everything. And they did it.
So forty or so years after all the love-ins, the marches, the righteous dope (all of which may seem silly, but in my view preferable to watching a Cambodian mother screaming over the opened bleeding guts of her child) the Pentagon is at it again. Once more the jets howl over remote primitive countries, countries that did nothing to the US and couldn’t have, and promotions flow, and contracts, and generals demand more troops and more money to stop communism. Excuse me, terrorism. Soon, the Chinese, a better threat, coming to a theater near you. With the passing of years, one demon fades into another. Switching enemies is much easier now, what with search-and-replace.

Eric Holder wants to investigate the Bush Administration “torture†at Abu Grab. He thinks “water boarding†is terrible torture.
Here’s some of what Medal of Honor recipient and Viet Nam War POW Colonel Bud Day wrote about real torture. Colonel Day was shot down taken prisoner and brought to North Vietnam in 1967. In his books on his experiences, Colonel Day described real torture this way.
“I was put thru a mock execution because I would not respond. I was pistol whipped on the head.â€
“I was hung [upside down] by my feet all day.â€
“I escaped and got [shot during my recapture].â€
“[Being shot] was OK…what happened after was not. They.. put me in the rope trick..almost pulled my arms out of the sockets. Beat me on the head with a little wooden rod until my eyes were swelled shut, and [pounded] my un-shot, unbroken hand a pulp.â€
“[The next] day [they] hung me by the arms…re-broke my right wrist…wiped out the nerves in my arms that control the hands..rolled my fingers up into a ball…only left the slightest movement of my left forefinger.â€

Eric Holder wants to investigate the Bush Administration “torture†at Abu Grab. He thinks “water boarding†is terrible torture.
Here’s some of what Medal of Honor recipient and Viet Nam War POW Colonel Bud Day wrote about real torture. Colonel Day was shot down taken prisoner and brought to North Vietnam in 1967. In his books on his experiences, Colonel Day described real torture this way.
“I was put thru a mock execution because I would not respond. I was pistol whipped on the head.â€
“I was hung [upside down] by my feet all day.â€
“I escaped and got [shot during my recapture].â€
“[Being shot] was OK…what happened after was not. They.. put me in the rope trick..almost pulled my arms out of the sockets. Beat me on the head with a little wooden rod until my eyes were swelled shut, and [pounded] my un-shot, unbroken hand a pulp.â€
“[The next] day [they] hung me by the arms…re-broke my right wrist…wiped out the nerves in my arms that control the hands..rolled my fingers up into a ball…only left the slightest movement of my left forefinger.â€

Proposed Smoking Ban Angers Some In Military
Gates considering report urging total prohibition for active-duty personnel

A Pentagon-commissioned report urges the Defense Department to ban smoking in the military, even by combat troops in battle zones, a proposal that quickly ignited a controversy among service members.
The study, which was completed late last month by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, recommends closing “the pipeline of new tobacco users entering the military†by prohibiting tobacco use in the service academies and officer-training programs like ROTC and eventually instituting a total ban on all use of tobacco by active-duty personnel.

A U.S. Army Reserve major from Florida scheduled to report for deployment to Afghanistan within days has had his military orders revoked after he argued that he should not be required to serve under a president who has not proven his legitimacy for office.
His attorney, Orly Taitz, confirmed to WND the military has rescinded his impending deployment orders.
